I haven't written about fantasy football before so I will give you a little bit of a background on our league, The New Englanders. I will put the team names in parenthesis. The league consists of; myself (DeHop Don't Stop), Shafer Rancourt (iMakeIt Raincourt), Cody Ryan (Kidz Bop Trap Queen), Doug Barker (Team Barker), Jarred Lash (Team Lash), Todd Redman (New England Patriots), Will Brooks (The Lucky Ones), Hayden Brooks (Will Top Nick Bottom), Jack Gould (Keeping It Reel), and Evan Holland (Last Place). The Standings entering week 10 were as follows: EAST DIVISION: 1. iMakeIt Raincourt (7-2) 2. Team Lash (6-3) 3. DeHop Don't Stop (5-4) 4. Kidz Bop Trap Queen (5-4) 5. Team Barker (4-5) WEST DIVISION: 1. New England Patriots (5-3-1) 2. The Lucky Ones (4-5) 3. Keeping It Reel (3-6) 4. Last Place (3-6) 5. Will Top Nick Bottom (2-6-1) Week 10 was an interesting one with plenty to talk about within the league. The beginning of the week started with a bang as there was controversy almost as soon as it started. Todd and Jarred had a trade in place that fulfilled needs for both teams but was not deemed fair by some members of the league. The transaction was;

TODD RECEIVED: TE Rob Gronkowski (NE Patriots) RB Danny Woodhead (SD Chargers) JARRED RECEIVED: TE Tyler Eifert (Cincinnati Bengals) RB Chris Johnson (AZ Cardinals) QB Aaron Rodgers (GB Packers)

It fulfilled Todd’s want for an all Current/Former New England Patriots team. It then fulfilled Jarred's need for a legitimate Quarterback and a more consistent Running Back. What some people disliked about this trade was that both players knew Todd’s team was getting worse and Jarred's team was getting a large increase in 2 positions, Running Back and Quarterback. Although Woodhead is ranked as a top RB he is a 3rd down back who is inconsistent with potential for big games. Chris Johnson has revived his career this year looking like the CJ2K of 2010. With only a small drop off from Rob Gronkowski to Tyler Eifert, the addition of Aaron Rodgers to Jarred's team is what mainly had some people up in arms. The Trade was vetoed by the league with 5 votes and as soon as this happened Todd and Jarred completed the same exact trade which this time was not vetoed, only getting 4 votes to be vetoed which is one less than needed. This set Shafer into a furious rampage attacking both Todd and Jarred verbally. Todd rarely engaged but on the other hand Jarred and Shafer exchanged negative words more than once over this trade. With the Shafer being one game ahead of Jarred in the standings. The heat between the two and the playoff impact set up a perfect, marquee matchup for week 10. We'll start off with the game of the week: Shafer vs. Jarred. Unfortunately this one didn't live up to its hype, but nevertheless Jarred came away with the win 108-78 largely in part to Antonio Brown's 28 points. WR AJ Green RB Latavius Murray came up short for Shafer only combing for a total of 10 points. Jarred goes to 7-3 while Shafer falls to 7-3 as Jarred takes first place in the division as he has the tiebreaker for more points scored in the season so far. Then we have my team taking on Doug's team. I took home the win 107-81. Doug's running backs seemed to fail him as Giovanni Bernard only had 7 points and D'Angelo Williams with only 6 against one of the worst run defenses in the league in the Cleveland Browns. For my team Adrian Peterson had his best week of the season rushing for 203 yards and a touchdown collecting a total of 28 points. I moved to 6-4 on the season good for 3rd in the East while Doug falls to 4-6 which is last in the East Division but he is still hanging on to that 6th and last seed in the playoffs. The next matchup was a battle of the two worst records, Hayden against Evan. Hayden's team being plagued by injury and Evan making questionable decisions throughout the season has left them in the not so great positions they are in. Hayden walked away with the win in this one 84-57. Jeremy Langford had a monster week with 30 points really helping seal up the victory for Hayden while all of Evan's team underperformed besides Derek Carr and the Panthers Defense/Special Teams who combined for almost half of his points at 27. Hayden moves within a half game of the last playoff spot at 3-6-1 and as Evan falls to 3-7 which put him in last place in the West Divison although still only one game out of that 6th playoff spot. Now to the lowest scoring matchup of the week, Todd vs. Jack. Todd's starting lineup was compiled of all New England Patriots players except QB Ryan Fitzpatrick but he still managed to collect the victory 76-55 as Jack's team put on one of the most underwhelming performances of the season. Tight End Rob Gronkowski was Todd's top player putting on a great performance that resulted in 18 fantasy points. Meanwhile, Jack had every position player on his team in single digits and believe it or not his D/ST, the Bengals, and Kicker, Robbie Gould, were the only two in double digits combining for 23 points. Todd improved to 6-3-1 gaining an even larger division lead and almost guaranteeing himself a first round bye while Jack fell to 3-7 which puts him in 4th in the West Division. Finally, we've got the closest matchup of the week between Cody and Will. Cody got the win in this one 96-94 as this game came right down to Monday night. Going into the Monday Night Football game between the Texans and Bengals, Will was trailing Cody 96-93 with Bengals RB Jeremy Hill left in his lineup. He only needed four points to give Will the win, and with Hill averaging 8 points per game, Will was quite confident during the day on Monday that he had the win locked up. Fortunately for Cody, Hill had a horrific game rushing the ball 7 times for 15 yards only resulting in 1 fantasy point. This game brought Cody up to 6-4 putting him at 4th in the East while Will falls to 4-6 leaving him out of the last playoff spot as he lost to Doug earlier in the season. STANDINGS HEADING INTO WEEK 11: EAST DIVISION: 1. Team Lash (7-3) 2. iMakeIt Raincourt (7-3) 3. DeHop Don't Stop (6-4) 4. Kidz Bop Trap Queen (6-4) 5. Team Barker (4-6) WEST DIVISION: 1. New England Patriots (6-3-1) 2. The Lucky Ones (4-6) 3. Will Top Nick Bottom (3-6-1) 4. Keeping It Reel (3-7) 5. Last Place 3-7 Week 10 was a good one and with only 3 regular season games left for each team, the playoff race is heating up as each team looks to improve their position and make a run at the championship!
